Adjusting to your “new norm” can be challenging as it is often met with uncertainty, unpredictability, and feelings of loneliness and fear. This “new norm” can involve chronic illnesses, mental health challenges, caregiving responsibilities, feelings related to grief and/or a new chapter that has not been as exciting as you had hoped. By receiving emotional support during these times of instability, you can begin to foster resilience and understand the importance of self-care.
My name is Lonnie Fox and I am a clinical social worker. I received my Masters Degree from NYU, and have 10+ years experience providing therapy and counseling to older adults, adults and teenagers. I have worked with these populations in community centers, mental health clinics and adult day programs focusing on dementia care. My career experience has evolved to include other adulthood transitionary times, such as graduations, new relationships, career changes and motherhood. I am a big supporter of meeting clients where they are at in order to best understand and cope with these times of transitions.
